Finance Specialist - Immediate Opening
This position is responsible for the financial and accounting operations of the school. Will manage financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and provides strategic financial guidance to support business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, ability to communicate important information and being very organized in prioritizing work.
Duties - include but not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and payments.
- Lead in the budgeting process by providing financial insights and analysis.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and
- governmental regulations, working with external auditors.
- Collaborate with team members on fundraising projects as needed.
- Produce monthly financial statements to be presented to the leadership team and board of trustees.
- Utilize accounting software for efficient data management and reporting.
- Maintain accurate and readily available records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in finance or accounting role, preferably in a private school setting.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Spreadsheets) and other financial software systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) - must be able to read, write and speak both languages.
