The Palmas Academy Board of Trustees is responsible for the school's overall well-being. Members are nominated through the Trustee Committee, approved to run for office, and elected by eligible stakeholders (current TPA parents). New members are selected for their interest and commitment to serving the interests of TPA, as well as any particular talents or experiences they bring to support the school. The BOT meets at least eleven (11) times in the year monthly to receive reports from its various committees and the Head of the School.
The Board establishes the school practices and policies at a macro level, including the adaption and amendments of the by-laws, and sees that these are followed.
The Board works with the Head of School to set the budget for each year, ensuring the school operates within its fiscal limits. The Board is also responsible for collaborating in the planning and overseeing of fundraising campaigns and activities, as well as general monitoring of the school's finances.
The Board of Trustees appoints the Head of the School. The HOS is the only employee of TPA who reports to the Chairman of the BOT. The HOS is in turn is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school, the implementation of the school policies, and the management and supervision of the faculty, staff, and students.
NOTE: Trustees are not responsible nor become involved in any matters pertaining to the operation of the school, including curricular and personnel issues, or day-to-day administration of TPA.
