Admissions FAQ
When does the admissions season open?
At TPA, admissions are rolling year-round to accommodate family moves and life changes. For the 2026–27 school year, admissions open in January, and the first entrance test is offered at the beginning of March. We recommend beginning the process as early as possible to secure space in your desired grade level.
What grade levels does TPA serve?
We accept new students from PK3 through 11th grade.
Note: Admission to 12th grade is rare, as by grade 11 students are typically already establishing post-graduation plans. We do, however, give special consideration to families with siblings also enrolling.
What are TPA's accreditations?
The Palmas Academy is fully accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA) and the Commission on Accreditation of Independent Schools (CADIE). These accreditations affirm our commitment to continuous improvement, high academic standards, and excellence in teaching and learning from preschool through 12th grade.
Is financial aid or scholarship support available?
Yes! TPA offers need-based financial aid and a growing portfolio of scholarships. Families can indicate interest during the admissions process. Aid applications are reviewed once admission is offered, and awards depend on timely submission of all documents and the availability of funds.
What is the primary language of instruction?
English is the primary language of instruction, supported by Spanish and SSL (Spanish as a Second Language) programs to build bilingual proficiency.
How can I schedule a campus visit?
We love welcoming families to see our campus, classrooms, and Dolphin community in action. Fill out this form and we’ll be in touch to set up your visit!
What are the steps in the application process?
- Submit the online application and pay the application fee.
- Provide required documents such as report cards, transcripts, or recommendations (depending on grade level).
- Schedule the admissions assessment (grade-appropriate) and a family interview.
- Admissions review—our team evaluates the full application in a fair and holistic way.
- Decision and enrollment—families are notified promptly and guided through next steps for enrollment.
Do you require entrance exams?
Yes. Applicants complete an admissions assessment appropriate for their grade. The assessment is typically given right here on campus. We also require a student interview for secondary students, and a school day visit for primary students.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is $100 per applicant, payable when you submit your application. This fee helps cover the cost of assessments and processing.
How do I apply?
Applications are submitted through our online admissions portal. All requirements, forms, and deadlines are listed there.
